Danny Petrovich
Hello.
I’ve spent my career leading product and experience design across agencies, startups, and large technology organizations, including platform work with Meta and marketplace innovation at Kelley Blue Book (KBB). My focus has always been turning complex systems into clear, useful experiences. Whether building consumer products, design systems, or AI-enabled workflows, the throughline has remained the same: build strong teams, solve real problems, and create products people can trust.

I advocate for the 3-legged stool product model (and following the Keeley Triangle), emphasizing cross-functional collaboration. I trained with author Marty Cagan of the Silicon Valley Product Group and have had success adopting his "durable team" concept – small, scalable teams of functional leads, empowered to focus on their areas of expertise with a fairly broad range of autonomy in the day-to-day work.

When I'm not problem-solving or coaching teams to learn and do their best work, I'm chasing after my identical twin boys. Don't ask me who is who – some days, their color-coded shoes really help!

My personality type is INTJ - "the Architect." I took the Myers-Briggs test back in college and the results haven't changed over the years. If you want to know what makes me tick and learn more about yourself (and the strengths and weaknesses we all have), you should consider taking the free test at 16personalities.com. I find it useful to know the "types" on my teams so I can better interact with them and ensure their durable teams have personality diversity to aid in problem-solving and healthy conflict resolution.

I'm a fan of "Servant Leadership," a leadership style that prioritizes the growth, well-being, and empowerment of employees. It aims to foster an inclusive environment that enables everyone in the organization to thrive as their authentic self. I enjoy coaching but can still jump in and play ball wherever needed. I also don't ask people to do things that I'm not willing to do myself, including working late or weekends (which is sometimes unavoidable). Many of my past direct reports tend to work with me again at other companies, so maybe I'm doing something right? It feels right.

Fun fact: I'm an "armchair architect," so I guess my personality type tracks. I designed and built my house and also designed the studio at Codazen to follow the Meta office vibe, using 3D/CAD software to plan out every square inch (literally).

As an artistic kid growing up with a quality control engineer father, I learned to identify and solve problems at an early age. Today, with a Product Design backgound with extensive UX and User Research experience, I'm still driven to creatively address issues and seek continuous improvement.
